A sailing vessel capable of successfully navigating in dangerous Arctic waters was first born in the mind of Donald B. Mac Millan four years prior.
Bowdoin is an operating vessel currently under direction of Maine Maritime Academy, moored in Castine, Maine
The students of MMA have the unique opportunity to learn traditional sailing in an experiential environment on the schooner.

![]() All students are invited to sail on the Schooner Bowdoin this Saturday, September 5th, starting at 12:00 Noon. We will sail for most of the afternoon, should be back to the waterfront by 1500 or 1600. Schooner Crew sails Bowdoin during the week @ 1600 Monday through Thursday.
