Arctic Voyage 2008    Captains' Log & Photos

Built during the winter of 1920-21

A sailing vessel capable of successfully navigating in dangerous Arctic waters was first born in the mind of Donald B. Mac Millan four years prior.

Bowdoin is an operating vessel currently under direction of Maine Maritime Academy, moored in Castine, Maine

The students of MMA have the unique opportunity to learn traditional sailing in an experiential environment on the schooner.
